Community Choice Aggregation: Green Choice
This program enables local government to combine the purchasing power of its residents and businesses to provide them with an alternative to Eversource Basic Service, ( your electrical supplier in Carlisle). This is a less expensive alternative. The Standard Product (default product)--$0.11450/kWh: This is a 100% renewable energy product, including 33% to 37% (depending on year) from MA Class I Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) sourced in New England.
A recent study from UMass Amherst found that CCA programs are less expensive and more sustainable that standard suppliers.

Home Energy Use Assessments.
The Town is working to help Carlisle residents lower energy usage, make their homes more comfortable, and save money on energy costs.
In line with the Town’s sustainability efforts, Carlisle has partnered with HomeWorks Energy, a Mass Save® partner, to help residents make their homes more efficient, starting with a no-cost assessment.
During your assessment, a Home Energy Specialist will review your home’s energy performance and show you how to save money and energy year-round.
Benefits of an assessment include a no-cost custom home energy report, 100% off sealing air leaks in your home, 75-100% off new insulation, up to $10,000 in heat pump rebates, 0% financing, and no-cost energy-saving items such as programmable thermostats and water-saving devices.

WHY BE CONCERNED ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY?
WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME TO ACT
“We get to net zero by 2050 to hold the earth’s temperature rise to 1.5C. You cannot get to net zero by 2050 unless you do enough between now and 2030. If you don’t do enough between now and 2030, we will blow through the 1.5C rise and then we are looking at massive financial cost and disruption.” |
